OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS (OLP)
The Outdoor Leadership Program (OLP) is ideal for youth 12-17 years old who are passionate about developing their leadership skills in both an urban and outdoor recreational setting. The OLP is year-round with activities tailored to each season. Participants will collaborate to organize local hikes, nature-based activities in urban parks, and weekend camping experiences. The program will facilitate a hands-on learning environment in which youth leaders will develop skills in trip planning, navigation, animation and group management, environmental stewardship, risk assessment, and budgeting resources, while practicing Leave No Trace principles. There will also be explicit leadership training activities throughout the year. Activities may include: hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, etcetera.
